Fair Trade is in my DNA. My parents met and married in Togo, a small country on the west coast of Africa. I was raised with stories from their life in Togo and consequently have always felt a strong sense of compassion for third world countries and their people. Having lived in Australia, France and Canada has allowed me to experience the richness of life, and I have always believed it to be our responsibility to share this richness of life, and I have always believed it to be our responsibility to share this richness with the rest of the world. ‘Indulgence’ as we experience it is incomprehensible to the majority of the world’s population. How can we indulge in self-care rituals using abundant and fresh water without giving consideration to hardship and suffering in so many parts of the world?

One answer is Fair Trade purchasing. When buying fairly traded products, we ensure that the communities, farmers, workers, and all individuals involved are paid a fair price for their crop, creating an equal ground for trade. The impact of Fair Trade is growth, sustenance and the creation of infrastructure for parts of the world that have historically been victimized of exploitation. To indulge oneself with Tashodi Fair Trade products is pure, clean, karma-worthy pleasure to honour yourself while improving the world we live in.
